Kavana

Kavana makes hand-embroidered kurta sets, dresses and saris, made to order. Founded in 2020 by Prerna Negi and Jayant Kumar, the label was born from a wish to keep India's embroidery and weaving traditions in working use.

What began with handwoven saris has grown into kurta sets and dresses, each piece worked by hand and built around artisanal skill rather than volume.

Kavana — a symbol of heritage — stands for slow fashion that honours tradition, supports the artisans who carry it, and makes clothes meant to outlast a season.

Every Kavana piece is made to order, which the brand describes as its main check on waste — nothing is cut before it is sold.

Packaging: recyclable paper, cardboard and tissue, with no single-use plastic. Orders include a reusable cloth bag in place of disposable wrapping.

People: the brand reports a written worker policy, fair wages and timely payment, safe conditions, reasonable hours, maternity leave, public holidays and non-discriminatory practice, with no child or bonded labour at any stage.
