The studio
Un Denim is a home-grown label that rescues, upcycles and recirculates premium denim, upstyling it into one-of-a-kind wardrobe pieces — one GreenPocket™ at a time.
Six billion pairs of jeans are made every year for a planet of eight billion people, and by the brand's account thirty per cent are never worn even once. Denim is resource-intensive to make: industry estimates put the water behind a single new pair at up to 3,600 litres, alongside roughly 15 kg of CO₂.
The upside is that denim is built to last, which is what makes it worth rescuing across styles that do not date.
Un Denim does not manufacture fabric. It curates rescued denim garments and deadstock from trusted sources and upstyles them, keeping good denim in use and out of waste streams. Because the world does not need more clothes. It needs better ones.
What they declare
Materials, in the brand's words: upcycled denim and deadstock only — "zero virgin, as we do not manufacture."
Packaging: cornstarch bags inside, and an FSC paper courier bag the brand describes as compostable. Material information and recyclability are printed on the packaging itself.
People: the brand says it upskills its team in upcycling and in working with technology, "to prepare them for better opportunities." It reports a written worker policy, minimum wage with timely payment, reasonable hours, maternity leave, public holidays and freedom of association.
Aarambh: the brand’s own account. Nobody has verified it yet.
